The marvelous covered bridges of Vermont are dotted throughout her picturesque landscapes.With over 100 in the State you are sure to see one as you travel along the highways to your destination. Some have cute names like the “Kissing Bridge” in Bellows Falls or the “Silk Bridge” in Bennington. The Dummerston Bridge built in 1872 is 280 feet long and the longest covered bridge entirely in the State of Vermont. The oldest Covered bridge is the Middlebury Pulp Mill Bridge over Otter Creek which was built in 1820.
